FUBAR Order Well, last week I had a little panic. My church was putting on an ice cream social, and we had ordered a large quantity of ice cream in 4 gal tubs. then on wensday, when its supposed to arrive, no delivery truck. After calling the supplier see if they had a change in their schedule (no problem, I didn't need it until sunday) they tell me they can't ship it, since the order was received too late. WHAT?!? according to them, orders have to be placed by 3 pm on monday for delivey. After pointing out that I had placed the order the week before, the point out that the order was placed 2012-06-11 3:30pm, so it was past the cutoff time. I repeatedly tried to point out that it was placed after the cutoff time, if I wanted to receive it on the week of the 6th, but that I had stated, and the PO indicated that delivery was requested for the week of the 18th (with the estimated delivery scheduled for the 20th). The conversation just went in circles for about half an hour, and no supervisor or manager that I could talk to. In the end, they promised to have it on the truck that would make deliverys on Tuesday the 26th. Sorry, but I needed it for the 24th, so cancel the order!!! In the end I got a deal for about 75% of my order at one local supermarket and they promissed that if I submit an order 2 days in advance they could supply whatever I need in the futur at a better price than my old supplier. Then it took 3 other stores to get the remaining 25% of the quantity needed. I guess I know where I'm going in the futur!
