Really? They are still doing it? I recently had a land line put in so I could use the First Alert system. Been living in this place for 7 years, always used cell phones. But the situation changed recently. So, I am sitting there playing on the computer when the land line rings. I know that it could only be a telemarketer or collections looking for the previous owner of the number. Turned out to be somebody with a thick accent calling from Microsoft Windows and needed to talk to me about my computer. Really? Now, I would have loved to play with the guy, but he was interrupting my game. So, all I said was "Say hello to the Nigerian prince for me" and hung up.

Comments yup- they still do that.. years later they are STILL doing it.. its fun to mess around with them though... have them lead you thruogh things for an hour... then tell them your running a mac or something. -Harm I've got a linux vm waiting for them/ -McSmiley and I'm debating on setting up a win 3.11 just to mess with them -McSmiley Yeah, they hit one of our locations the other day - and even though the manager was believing them (thinking they were us) tried doing what they were told - but on an XP embedded thin client, locked down with a write filter and behind a tight firewall, she was unable to do so. When she asked for a ticket number, they hung up. -Captain Trips It's a bit long-winded to post in the comments here, but this was my experience awhile back: Offsite Link -Cyan "My computer? It's a largish black box with various cables sticking out of it. What else you wanna know, Lumpy?" (*click*) -MeanDean
