  • 2. After 5 - A Tech Song
With apologies for formatting and to Led Zep .... There’s a techie who’s sure / All the calls will be done / By the time 5 o’clock rolls around / When the time clock strikes 5 / All the calls still survive / Will the fish ever stop and go home / Ooh, Ooh, will the fish ever stop and go home / The next call is sure / To be worse than the cure / For the problem the fishy has got / “I can’t click on the net / What can you do to get / MSN on my screen soon today” / So I check on the web / To find out what was said / When the fishy called just yesterday / Ooh, it makes me wonder / Ooh, it makes me wonder / I can tell that the fish / Can’t just get what they wish / Without some help from me and the boys / So I check what the net / Is set up for them to get / When they click on the icon to surf / Ooh, ooh, and it makes me wonder / What is the TCP set up for? / What is the address? / It should be set up right now / Dear fishy can you find the settings? / And can you tell / What DNS is set to now? / I tell the fishy what to type / And they can’t seem to get it right / And as the call goes round and round / I wish that I could mute the sound / And make the fishy go away / So that I can end my day / And the calls just won’t stop coming after 5……

  • 3. And this has to do with tech how ???
I am a tech trainer, and part of my job is to be available to answer questions for students who are taking pre-recorded classes. As I am sitting here reading TSC, I get asked the following ... "Where can I buy 50 manilla folders? Cheap?"

    1. Just when you think it's all bad someone will surprise you Sent a tablet back to ASUS because the display quit after a 6" drop onto carpet. Now, I had sent it back about 3 months ago cause I dropped it onto asphalt (MY BAD) and they fixed it under warrenty. Hooray for them. But now, warrenty was expired, so I figured this one was gonna cost me. Boy, was I wrong. They not only repaired it no cost, they even had to replace parts. Now I ask you, does anyone else out there have an example of non-warrrenty repair being done for free, even when it is the CUSTOMERS (me) fault? Guess what brand my next machine is gonna be.....
