You might want to leave off your last name and the exact location of where you work, just for saftey's sake. Never know when you dont want someone to find out your posting here (boss).....Welcome to the site -burrkiss Well, 15 degrees of the backplate is about a 75 degree tilt. Mine were only 15 degrees off verticle. But the pins were all singles that were bent, so I know I didnt fark it up. :~} -burrkiss Yo, tell your boss to get on the TSC bandwagon and get a logon too. They free!!! or $20 whichever you feel is good. -burrkiss What's BS about saying a woman wanted to speak to another female tech? It wasn't because of supposed technicaly competence - just that she felt more 'comfortable'. -namor Congrats on your Star from one CT Native to another! -da5ve Hey, I'm into a BBQ, we just need to get some more members interested. -Hellion It's HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\Winlogon. Change DefaultUserName to the user's name and log off. When they ctrl-alt-del, it'll have their username in teh box already. It's very handy! -Plurimatic -Plurimatic No real diff, Yankee. They both mean of or relating to society. Only real diff. is that 'societal' is more specific. It has only one definition. While 'social' has several definitions. See http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?book=Dictionary&va=social -dobbin I dunno, do you WANT authoritative? ;) -teivrann Answer to the Tech Song post: ummmm... Granted??? to CTYankee.... (don't think you need my permission!)... but whatever ya'll do, have fun w/ it! -duckhead You and your </512KB> posts ... you're evil ... I love it :) -teivrann VirtualPC is ok but if you're going to need to defrag your HDD after creating a .vhd or The virtual machine will eat up your CPU time when you try to boot the virtual machine. 1.8GHz (Celeron at 100% before -- 34% after) 2156 file fragments on a 8GB VHD. -lancasterjl I had a stylized energy burst put on my arm to coexist with the tattoo... the tattoo symbolizes inner strength and focus, and together they symbolize that inner strength and believing in yourself will get you through anything, that it will help you accomplish anything... not exactly a simple symbolism :) -teivrann Nope. I'ma not yer bro. I'ma girl :) Good to meet you though! :) -Hayden SM = Subnet Mask (as far as I can tell) -lineswine Shipped out yesterday 3/11/04, email me if you want the tracking # -LowLevelFormat Sarge, *YOU* and ALL the boots on the ground have my support and condolences. I reserve my disdain and hatred for the a**hole who sent you there
I hope you refering to Sadam and alqi'ada. anyway president gore would have sent us too. the former asshole and congress signed the Iraqi Liberation act of 1998 removal of sadam for the same reasons. google it. media seems to forget things -SGTARKyTEK i'm sending out a card for persephone, what's your mailing address -omegawolf I find the 'Natural' keyboard screws up on me too. Most often when I'm typing closed curved brackets. I do smilies fairly often, and I can't count how many times :) becomes :0. Definitely changes the mood of the message. :) -Jay911 If you come across a breecom mounting bracket that you want to get rid of let me know. Thannks. Mike -mikeatnight Thats a very good point and I totaly agree...Different *can* be dangerous, but it is not always so...convincing people that different *is* dangerous as default is not good and people like that should be avoided and argued with... -Waylander HHGG or H2G2 = HitchHiker's Guide to the Galaxy, a 5 volume trilogy by Douglas Adams. -Tekkie Can I grab that sp2 blocker patch please? -NightRain Hey could I have that SP2 blocker too? Thanks -jard Hey could I have that SP2 blocker too? Thanks -jard Me too, please! Thanks. -Gromit Excellent link, thanks for the info, much appreciated. :0) -Digital Dogcow Gmail invites are as cheap as Google searches, so I'll take the 10 points for “Gouverneurs de la rosée” by acques ROUMAIN (Haïti) (1907-1944). -concept14 Don't envy where I live. Housing prices are a ripoff here. A 3 bedroom 1 bath house around here can be up to $250,000 - $450,000 depending where you shop. -BayAreaTech Just wanted to let you know, "Bladder evacuation drill" is on my Log sheet now. THANKS! -Bobsentme <grins> Yup. Yersinia Pestis is Bubonic Plague. I chose the ID because I have 8 pet rats and my oldest girl ratty is named Yersinia. Uninformed people often ask me if my rats carry plague.. pet rats are as far removed from wild rats and the pathogens they may carry as poodles are from wild wolves. So my choice of YersiniaPestis as a userID is a poke at the silly fools who think that all rats carry plague.
Sara -YersiniaPestis Lovely Star! -Tekkie Hmmm. I was thinking that the sky had gotten a bit dimmer for a bit. Looking good now. -Rabbitt I was a bit unclear, The software we use is for testing other equipment, will only run on certain O/S's - the oldest needs Win98 - and the latest requires Windows 2000, but as we stil get equipment that needs the old software - we have to keep Windows 98, and as the software is supplied to us, we are unable to do anything but use the O/S it runs will run on.... The point I was on about is that some places cannot just upgrade to the latest version of windows, as they would be unable to do there job... -Wonko The Sane If those are the non-cygwin versions of the unix commands for windows, I'd love to have them. -MatrixMole I'd love to have them, I've gotten so used to *nix now it's frustrating to use Windows.... moreso than usual. ;) -GeekGirl Actually my handle comes from one of my favorite star trek next gen episodes. The name of the place where the federation makes its last stand against the borg, wolf359.
But I look up the book you made reference to, reserved it at the book store and will pick it up on my next day off from work, thanks for the book ref. -Wolf359 *skitters over from her whiteboard* You find embryonic geodes inside pregnant geodes. If you wish to mate geodes, you will have to first sex them by lifting the crust up and checking their cleavage. -Parilla RE; http://www.techcomedy.com/single/new_stories.php?content_number=48693 Not being an American, I'm not sure what your comment alluded to...What Is the Pizza Hut Pres. spending his money on? -lineswine Funny you mentioned a Military Watch... I have a few Chronographs from the Royal Canadian Air Force (Rodania, Breitling) , and a U.S. Military Soldiers watch. I hope you don't mind me "plugging" myself, but if you like, you can check out the site I run with my father (www.nostalgiawatches.com) -renaultguy You OK for the NYC meet-up? Details in the breakroom. -lineswine As far as i remember you can clone a blank partition to another drive. This is why when i do a disk to disk clone i copy the disk image to a small HD so i know which one is the destanation. :) -makillik Nice Star. Again. -Rabbitt I'd really love to see that email. I'd even love for you to send it to our Customer Service inbox. But I'm afraid to post anything that might reveal where I work, because we had an employee get fired for writing a blog about co-workers. Brings up serious First Amendment issues though. (I'm actually working toward a law degree, and First Ammendment rights is my favorite area) Anyway, if you email it to me, I'd be happy to pass it along <grin> -beerman *cough* https://www.techcomedy.com/members/gift_a_star.php *cough* -lineswine Hey, i saw that you're in Central MA often from what you wrote to neuman in the house thread he started. IF I can find the house, want to go for an adventure to find out if he's ok? -taieena Any idea where I could get hold of a copy of the calculus primer in the UK? Amazon don't seem to have it, and Google reveals all of two results. Thanks :) -katinahat Noticed you gave ups to the watchguard firebox. You use their stuff at work? I have an old edge I got cheap from a recycler. -illiterate Mrs Z is 4ft 9 and takes UK size 1 or 2. This means that she buys all her footware in the childrens section. The Good News is no tax on childrens shoes. The Bad? until quite recently not much choice in fancy shoes but now plenty of choice. -Zoomer I was reading through the archives a bit and found a comment by you in reply to tech story 52 http://www.techcomedy.com/users/submitted_content.php?nick=redfaery and was wondering where the post you are referring to is, I can't find it and am actually rather interested in it. -Icelator The language is Japanese. -compbrat you asked how i removed Novell here is the answer HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
and change GinaDll from NWGINA.DLL to MSGina.dll -Servo In my case, it was my company that arranged for the training. Since $RhymesWithHell is one of their bigger customers... the arrangement was quick and painless. -VoiceOfSanity All Hail the Gord! -charred Dude, thank you for the offer. I was able to find the CD though. I put it in a place where I was certain I wouldn't lose it and could easily find it... I left it on the keyboard, and closed the laptop's lid. <facepalm> And I thought I was being smart by putting it there. -beerman
