Slackware? For your ISP servers? Sweet mother of god - take me with you! -namor Doug, I think it would be a cool idea to grab a few parody songs from different people on this site and have them recorded for a CD that everyone could enjoy. I think it would be even cooler if we could get TSC members who are also musicians to do the recording, but I know that's not very feasable. See if you've got some guys willing to have some fun; I'd help out. Iowa's not that far from me; I could probably arrange a weekend trip there sometime if you needed a keyboardist or a vocalist. Let me know. :~} -RiffRaff Cedar Rapids actually, but I'm in a call center for a cable company covering WI,SD,IA -burrkiss DS: Sounds good on the recording. I'm going to try to pick up a keyboard with a 16-track sequencer here in the next few months so I can lay out the instrumentation, then all we need to worry about is vocals. And if we have musicians to cover instruments, I can just kill those tracks for recording. Any thoughts on the legal implications of recording copyrighted music even if we change the words? -RiffRaff I was thinking maybe having Hawk offer the CD from the TSC store on a donation basis, and maybe offer a suggested donation of $5-$10 or so to cover actual out-of-pocket expenses. That might keep us clear of copyright violations as well as make it affordable to any tech who wants a copy. My other thought was to offer the tracks as downloadable MP3s, again for a donation. That would keep our production costs to a bare minimum. -RiffRaff DataSolutions. Thanks for the apology. No hard feelings. As i only work in the Desktop (and some notebook) departments, I can't speak for the printer side or how their training/tools match up. I have never needed to call the printer tech support for my printers, so I can't really speak to that point. -Bynar Same here, Data. I'm in the Corp LJ and we have a fair amount of training, before we hit the floor. We are expected to "take ownership" of each and every call. Some do a better job of it than others, but that isn't either HP's ot the st. reams fault. Human nature, I s'pose. Anyway, no hard feelings. -obie099 Hey, I appreciate the suggestion, but despite not wanting to leave Indy, no school corporation is going to hire me. I've done the full-time band gig, and I'm going to be looking for a part-time gig, but I don't want to go on the road again at this point. I feel better today, but I kinda hit bottom last night. I'll be in touch soon about the TSC album. Thanks again! -RiffRaff Hey DS... please email me about the adapter (EIDE to USB)I would like to purchase one jensdarr@isu.edu -srteach How did you get that XP install DVD? Was it good for any computer you built? I can only find individual DVDs. -burrkiss
