Returned to Long Island after 3 semesters due to personality conflict w/ teacher. (I had one, he didn't). Became a bank teller.
Moved to Buffalo, NY to live with still girlfriend.. then married her.
Pushed carts for a living, then tech sales for MS Win95-Preview, Borland, various games, other software / hardware, tech support for iomega...
Fired from that job - backstabbed.
Worked for Semi-government traffic agency. AGAIN backstabbed (WORSE!) and fired.
Worked for local owned / operated ISP in Western NY (read Buffalo Area) - left.

There is a poem that the owner of the funeral home I work for likes to read for friends and close families that he knows. It's been a little better than 20 years for me since I was standing in a similar place. That little one of yours will be the best medicine for you. yes it was an accident. litteraly 8 years ago. my friends dad ran an ISP and the main rig was in the basemant. we were having a small lan party and decided quakeTF would rock. setup what we misidentified as the not doing anything servers as the quake servers- realised something when wrong when the net connection droped off the face of the earth. we then realised what servers we accidently just took over.. and tried to correct the problem. -Harm

Hi. I was very sorry to read about your Fujin. My father passed suddenly a few years ago from hemangiosarcoma, which is very similar to angiosarcoma. At the time, the doctors didn't give us much info, and this upset me deeply as I wanted to know more about what killed my dad. I couldn't find anything online about it either (at least in humans). Thanks for posting the link to your site on angiosarcoma. Now I have a better understanding of this terrible disease. If X won't start with Ubuntu, here's the command to use: sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg. If Bulletproof X goes berserko, you'll have to boot Ubuntu in recovery mode to get to a prompt. Once you get through answering all the questions for configuring X, it should back up the old file, write the new file, and start X with a basic video configuration. Then you can use the new GUI to configure the card and monitor the way they should be. -clockkingfl

It was the mail gateway which was named "Bifrost". After EMEA IT nixed our Edda scheme we switched to Kalevala, using the Swedish translation. That took "them" one day to figure out and nix. At that point EMEA IT took over and named servers like "CPH_mailgateway_main", "CPH_mailgateway_backup", "CPH_voipgateway_main" etc. Rumour says the head of EMEA IT operations is a born-again christian; don't know if it's true but it would explain a lot... -NordicPT

Hey, I have been thinking about you and wondering how you and TinyTribble are doing. I, not only will be walking in the Light the Night, but am signed up for the Race For the Cure. While I am still able, I am going to try to do all I can to promote and support cancer awareness. My next appointment is Friday. This will be 4 years, and the doctor said this one is critical, as it has been 4 years since my last diagnosis. I feel great, working full time and paying bills. My thoughts are with you.

I wanted this to be a little more personal. You were on my mind last week. Our tiny community held our anual 'Relay for Life' to benefit the American Cancer Society. My oldest took the 12:30 a.m. shift, and I walked from 7:30-8:30. The goal was to raise 110,000.00 as a group...we surpassed that before the Relay started
. In the 24 hour relay, we raised over 136,000.00. I was recently diagnosed with a heart condition, that stems from the radiation and chemotherapy. I got a little tired walking the whole hour, but I had a purpose and reason. For the relay, it wasn't about the journey, it was about the destination. It is my feeling that we WILL find a cure.
