Bio: I am 18 and I love it I get some crotchety old guy who bitches about the new generation and how we are slackers then at the end of the call telling how old I am how I just solved his issue. If you could only see their face. I think it would be a mix of dumbfounded, confusion, and amazement. Its great...

"I have my suspicsions but am not sure MSN had their tier 3 techs working in beaverton in Canada." so none of us will ever forget this famous quote...and who said it! -bluesclues go after any part of the site -postal tech Did you take a bitter-pill with your tea this morning? I agree that there are some issues going on here and the flaming has got to stop, but the people that read this site come here to let off steam. You have to expect that it will wash over and affect another tech from time to time. I agree with you 100% that people need to grow thicker skins and not let it affect them. DD's issue seems to be that the overall feel of the site has degenerated from comedy to ranting and raving. Well, he was both right and wrong. Yes, there has been a certain amount of that going around lately. More so than before, but we have been adding new members quite quickly. They don't lurk around and get the feel of things before posting. OK. There's nothing we can do about it except what we've already done. Let them know that we don't want the site to go in that direction. It has gotten better just over the last 5 days or so. In any case, I suspect that DD will eventually come back and post here. I hope so, but I agree that begging him is wrong. If he doesn't enjoy the site anymore, then good riddance. I enjoyed his stories and comments, but we don't need him to have fun on the site. If hawk wants to implement a way to lessen the anarchy here, I'm all for it. I suggested before that he should start thinking about appointing some moderators from within the members. The bottom line has always been that you need to treat people with respect. End of story. -scooby111 Hey Alex, I have to agree with Scooby. I'm one of those new guys. I spent most of a day reading and getting a feel for the site and then posted a story. Since then TSC has become one of my favorite forums. Yes, some of the flaming and personal attacks are disturbing, but there is still tons of good content. If I disagree with someone's post then I simply ignore it. If someone is ranting or raving with no attempt at humor, I ignore it. About the only thing I'm iffy on is moderators. I think it might change the "feel" of the site. I believe the ability for instant posts is an intregal part of TSC. I also don't understand why this keeps coming up. I didn't post this on the main page because it seems that at this point re-hashing it is just promulgating the problem. Anyway, that's my $.02 cents,,, Cheers -Hellion While I agree with some of the points that you made, many of them being about flaming and needing a thicker skin on issues, I felt it was unfair of you to attack Hawk's work and call this site "anarchy". It is in no way such a place; I've helped to run two sites that have over five hundred members in the past three years, and I can tell you that it is no picnic. It's a second job and I respect Hawk highly for the time and effort that goes into it. How can you be so sure that the members who are involved with any flaming are not given some sort of email from Hawk about it? You don't. And you probably never will because I tell you that such things are not meant for airing in public and are better done through email. Don't judge too harshly on Hawk's work on this site, he's done a magnificent job and he does everything he can to ensure that this place remains a great site to vent, share stories and generally convene with others. In the meantime, the storm has passed, the incident will soon be forgotten, and pretty soon there will be another hotshot member who just can't stop running at the mouth. =) -techiegoddess Alex, I appreciate your offer, but due to my situation, I can't risk it. Anything happens like that, they'll look at me first. No, I have to fight her legally and hope for the best. Thanks anyway. By the way, what was with the "Stop the Flaming" post? Did you just now catch up on that situation? -RiffRaff u didnt do anything to randyland.us did u? -postal tech Hey Alex hows it going? I live in Abbotsford too. I love the fact that vancouver got the olympics. Where do you work? -Dean241 Wow, what is it with Abbotsford? There's at least 3 of us on here :) -MrWint Does Asheran's call have a per month charge? -burrkiss hi -pollo
