Bio: for those not familiar, stiffarm refers not to a disability but a u.s. football term for a method of avoiding opponents trying to tackle the ball carrier. sometimes also effective with starfish, especially in combination with a bat.
my support load must be alot lower than most tsc-ers. i maintain about 6 PCs in a scientific lab, xp, linux, and mac, usually have 10-12 users who can at least tell the difference between a browser and an os, though some PhDs who are amazingly clueless. plus home net and family ts of course. i'm probably my own biggest starfish, having wasted a considerable portion of my life howling at BSODs or doing penance in the LART shelter, but have managed to learn how to use and fix a bunch of stuff that will all be obsolete yesterday.
